Thick, chocolatey, and creamy, and made with only 5 simple ingredients, this vegan chocolate hummus is sure to make it’s way to the top of your snack list!
My kids love this vegan chocolate hummus and it’s easily one of their top favorite snacks! The best part is that we made this with 5 simple ingredients: easy, wholesome, and guilt-free!
As a fun exercise, my kids love to use mini cookie cutters to cut out shapes in their apple or banana slices. We have eaten this chocolate hummus with strawberries, bananas, apples, pears, bread, crackers – literally everything – you name it!
It stores well in the refrigerator (if it lasts that long) for a few days. Furthermore, my chocolate hummus is nut-free, making this a great lunch box option and safe for school.
The Basics
This vegan chocolate hummus is made with five simple ingredients: canned chickpeas, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, maple syrup and plant milk. The chocolate chips are optional but fun!
To get an ultra smooth and creamy texture, it’s really important to use a high-powered blender or food processor. If texture is important in your home, I recommend something beefy and powerful to cream it. For example, my Cuisinart Food Processor does an awesome job smoothing it out.
